Welcome to Ogden Utah’s Historic Trolley District. Formally known as the East Central Bench National Historic District, the Trolley District is located from Washington to Harrison Boulevards and 30th Street to the Ogden River. The Trolley District is Ogden’s junction between history and innovation; mountain and metro; culture and adventure; work and play.

At the end of the 19th Century, the Trolley District was home to captains of industry, railroad tycoons, and citizens of the upper middle class Victorian era. This neighborhood was serviced by a network of streetcar routes connecting the people of the Trolley District to the activity of a bustling railroad downtown.

Today the area is graced by canopies of mature trees, gracious historic mansions, and a vivid history that continues to unfold. The old neighborhood is coming to life once more with homeowners restoring historic buildings, an array of eclectic businesses, and neighbors strolling and cycling between quaint streets and bustling boulevards. One thing that hasn’t changed is the neighborhoods convenient location adjacent to the downtown; a relationship that would ultimately be enhanced by a streetcar revival, reconnecting the people of the Trolley District with downtown and east-bench located work and play destinations.
